Charles D.
Dziuban (Chuck) - Director,
Research
Initiative for Teaching Effectiveness, University of
Central Florida Topic:Information
Fluency and Online Learning in the Digital Age. Instructional
design components are increasingly important for information fluency in
our college populations. Integrating how students find, evaluate and
use information into the higher education curriculum challenges
traditional notions of information literacy and technology literacy and
critical thinking. These developments require that assessment models
migrate form approaches that are objective, non contextual and non
authentic to ones that are reflective, contextual and authentic. Chuck
will discuss these issues in the context of the University of Central
Florida’s, “What if” information fluency initiative, presenting results
that signify the complexity and importance of this issue.
